Ebonyi State is participating in the Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria (SPIN) project, with a focus on improving agricultural productivity through sustainable irrigation systems. The state has selected Model 2, where the state takes the lead in developing and managing its irrigation schemes. To achieve its agricultural goals, Ebonyi State has chosen the Abakaliki Irrigation Scheme for rehabilitation and expansion under the SPIN project.
