Jigawa State is a committed participant in the Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria (SPIN) project, aiming to boost regional agricultural productivity through sustainable irrigation solutions. The state has chosen Model 2, which involves the state taking the lead in developing and managing its irrigation schemes. To fulfill its agricultural goals, Jigawa State has selected the Hadejia Valley Irrigation Scheme for rehabilitation and expansion under the SPIN project.
