Kogi State is an enthusiastic participant in the Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria (SPIN) project, aiming to enhance agricultural productivity through sustainable irrigation technologies. The state has selected Model 2, where the state government takes the lead in developing and managing irrigation schemes. To achieve its agricultural objectives, Kogi State has chosen the Kogi River Irrigation Project for rehabilitation and expansion under the SPIN initiative.
