REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR THE PREPARATION OF NIGERIA HYDROPOWER DEVELOPMENT MASTER PLAN (HMP) AND STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL ASSESSMENT (SESA)
The Federal Government of Nigeria on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation (FMWRS) in collaboration with Federal Ministry of Power has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of implementing the Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria (SPIN) Project and intends to apply part of the funds to procure Consultancy Services for the Preparation of Nigeria Hydropower Development Master Plan (HMP) and Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA).
TThe consulting services (“the Services”) include preparing a Hydropower Master Plan (HMP) for all river basins in Nigeria, conducting an integrated Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) alongside the HMP, engaging stakeholders throughout the process, building capacity within relevant ministries and agencies for integrated hydropower planning, and analyzing preferred hydropower portfolios while assessing cumulative impacts. The implementation period is for 24 months
